In reference to the furtherance of co-opera-
-tion in education between the different Countries of the Empire, I have the honour to present to you a letter from Pro- -fessor Bury, Regius Professor of History at Cambridge; I may add that financial facilities have been proposed to the League for his project.

Application has been made to us from time to time from the different Colonies for text books on the other Countries of the Empire. Some cormon form and balance in sụch books would seem necessary for a sound study of the whole. By the co-operation of the Countries in the project laid before you by Professor Bury a literary work of exceptional interest and value should be produced.
Professor Bury's University Record is well known. Having been first Professor of Greek then of Ancient History and being now Regius Professor of Modern History in the place of Lord Acton, the field covered by his work is very vast. We believe you will consider his name as a guarantee that the Mother Country on her part is prepared to contribute her best towards the furtherance of the larger and better study of our cormon history.
2. I have the honour to inform you that the League of the Empire's Educational Exhibition at the Crystal Palace (including contributions from Schools in all Countries of the Empire) has been visited by a very large number of people and we have received assurance that it has proved of exceptional interest both, to scholars and to teachers.
